Abstract

This study about agrarian migrations is very important to understand the so- cioeconomic configuration of several territories and regions that had based their actual identity in the settlement of people coming from other places deciding to change, or improving, their life and, even, search for their survival. Aware of this, we had developed this research about the origin and characteristics of this first "new farmers" that had colonized and developed all the region of the "Poniente Almariense", in the south-est of the Iberian Peninsula. This region is actually an strategic area of agricultural intensive production in the European context.


The period of time using for this study has been from 1965 to 1985. In this period the migrations phenomenons were the most important in this region, the ancient "Campo de Dalias).
