Abstract

The authors try their homage to Don Joaquín showing the relationship between his fertile geographical task and his open-minded and dialoguing personality. Two of his books are analyzed, with 62 years of separation, remarking his scientific rigor, his erudition and his interest in the World and Spain changes. As a conclu- sion appears the extraordinary continuity of his Geographical thought, his industry, and the maturity manifested with his constant preoccupation for innovation of ap- proaches and points of view, and the Humanism that permeates all his work.
