Evolution and spatial distribution of crime and delinquency in Spain

Abstract


The main purpose of this essay is to describe temporal and spatial variations of delinquency at spanish provinces and urban places. It will concentrate on three themes. First, the temporal evolution of crime trends; second, the current spatial distributions of criminality; and third, the structural composition of crimininal typology. We will develop a critique of safety official statistics and reveals specific features, which enable to evaluate the real influence of the most recent economical crisis in crime rates.
