Abstract This paper analyzes different epistemological approaches to geographic science and its connections with the economy: from contributions from physical geography to other human geography and even what we can call Demogeography. In any case, the geographical studies, very varied in their origins and in their forms of analysis of the spatial reality, are considered as support and important help to understand the evolution of the economy, citing specific cases and all of it, even having in account that they are independent sciences. In this context, we also cite some examples of publications in the Real Geographical Society that make contributions that allow evidence of this help from geography to the economic analysis, that is revealed from a first fact: the space is the natural support of the so-called economic infrastructure and which explains, complementarily, many aspects of the macroeconomics, in some way already present in Perpiñá when he linked to that analysis the strictly geographical concepts of position and Situation.
