Abstract Along its history, the Royal Geographic Society aimed to publish various Geography Dictionaries which would have meant an outstanding contribution to the development and knowledge of Geography. Shortly after the Society was founded until the mid-20th century, it tried to publish several types of Geographic Dictionaries, one including both terms and geographic entries and another one including place names known as the Madoz Dictionary which was republished. For over 70 years, different boards of directors and members were interested in the matter, but most of their attempts did not achieve their target. Nevertheless, they left plenty of documents and pieces of news which allow to reconstruct the process. UR - https://boletinrsg.com/index.php/boletinrsg/article/view/78
